What did you
want to be when you grew up?:
I've always wanted to be in an office like my dad. I
remember as a kid I used to want to be a dentist and make
people's teeth pretty or even a teacher and have fun playing
games. I've always wanted to be a mom and all the fun things
that go with that! I remember back in the day I wanted to
work for McDonalds and talk with those cool mics, I also
remember that I wanted to be a vet so I could help poor
helpless animals, I also would have loved to be a park
warden who rides around on a jeep, with the top down, who
checks on the wild animals: like cheetahs, lions,
and leopards. I thought it would be so fun having like
another guy who could tranquilize the animal and then I
would run in and check their paws and whiskers. But now that
I look back on all those things I think my wishes for what
I want to do has kind of changed. I still would love to do
anything in an office but not stuck there all the time
because I love people and I like to talk with them. So I
probably would like a more hands on job. I am also very
interested in traveling and going out and seeing the world.
So being a missionary has been something on my heart for a
while, but don't ask
where, I'm open for anything right now!
Why did you choose to be
involved with WGM?: My parents are missionaries
with WGM and I love to be able to get away somewhere and
feel at home.
What "luxury item" do you
take with you on any mission trip?: chacos, and
deodorant
What's the strangest thing you've eaten on the mission
field?: flying ants, and grasshoppers
What words of advice
would you give someone who is about to depart on their first
missions experience?: To be prepared for God to
change them somehow in a new way, maybe in seeing something
they have never seen. Also to not just go on a
missions trip to see a new place and see the people, but to
really get to know the natives and try and get into the
culture...really dive in and mingle with them. Be prepared
to try something new.
