PNG Team 2005

Hello Everyone!

We are doing well. Today we kept working at the bible college. First though we got a laugh when Mark tried Vegimite. He did not enjoy it. We wish we had got it on film. Nathan did get some good footage today. While driving around he used his “steady cam” and got some really cool shots of the land and people. Next we went to the Bennett's while some computer stuff was taken care of. We got to jump on the trampoline and hang out. We were able to get a lot done in the morning at the college. We had a traditional American lunch of hamburgers. We still had some of the traditional Guinea food with it. The afternoon we got the tractor out and our worked moved much faster. We hope to be done with the landscaping tomorrow. Tonight we played a game called Scum. It was great. We had a lot of fun. We also did our laundry. It was a bonding experience. We have a washer to use, but we have to have it hang dry. Since it rains here at night we have it across one of the bedrooms. We have three bedrooms in our flat. But the guys have one, and the girls have one. The extra room is used for random storage and is being used well.

We are working on our pigeon. It is proving interesting to have us practice. The natives have enjoyed helping us learn and appreciate our effort.

Please continue to pray. Things here are going well!

Love and Prayers,

Meg for the PNG Team

To give you some insight to the picture above, that is all four of us crammed in the back of a small pick-up truck. Nathan and Tim Bennett were in the front. Lucky for us it was a short ride.

Here's an addendum from Nathan:

Yesterday, I drove a bulldozer for the first time!  It was really fun although it took all of my strength to control it since it didn’t have power steering!  Stephanie got some pictures of it.  The landscaping is coming well and will look really nice when it is done.

Today, I am going to be teaching this morning about inductive Bible study.  We will be going through Psalms 1 as an example.  A couple of the team members are also wanting to ‘audit’ the class, so I think we will not start working as a team until the class is done.  On other days, Mark is going to teach about the three words for love in Greek and how they relate to an understanding of holiness (from Dr. Kinlaw), and Lisette is going to teach on lesson planning.  The others are still thinking if they want to try to share something.
