and equip Asbury students to reach the world"

The
World Gospel Mission student center seeks to encourage a Biblical world view by
exposing the students of Asbury College to missionaries from around the world
and giving the students opportunities to experience missions first hand. The goal of our student center is to help each student
find his or her
role in helping to fulfill the Great Commission – in Wilmore, in Kentucky, in
the United States, and in every corner of the world.

Learn
|
|
We
meet every Sunday evening at 6 PM. Be challenged each
Sunday
evening as we hear from missionaries fresh from the field as they share what
the Lord is doing in their part of the world (see
schedule). Join vibrant praise and
worship, participate in powerful prayer for the world, learn about various
ministries and opportunities for personal involvement, and fellowship with
like-minded students concerned about world evangelism.

Our
Task Force team mission trips during spring and summer breaks provide
a chance to see God’s extended family while advancing the Great Commission.
The Volunteers In Action program
(VIA) permits students to participate on a
deeper level in
an individualized missions experience tailored to their gifts and interests. The
VIA experience usually runs a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of one year on the
field.
The
Media Internship allows communications
students to gain valuable experience in the media field by assisting in one or
more areas of the production process of missionary or field videos. The
student center has two editing bays on site for those students participating in
internships through WGM.

Grow |
Those
students seeking to deepen their involvement in missions on a weekly basis may
apply to join the student cabinet.
This diverse group of students meet weekly to engage in
personal prayer and accountability as well as prayer for the world. They also plan our
Sunday evening fellowships as well as other activities which might expose fellow
students to missions. Cabinet members give input into certain operational
functions of the center and play an invaluable role in the overall ministry of
the student center to the Asbury Community.
